AFTERCARE

Always follow aftercare instructions as instructed by your tattoo artist to ensure the best outcome for your tattoo healing process. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me directly.

Bandage Method Aftercare Instructions

Derm Shield Tattoo Adhesive

If your tattoo is covered with Derm Shield or another brand of adhesive skin barrier:

Always have clean hands when handling your tattoo.

Once the Derm Shield is placed over the tattoo, it should be left on for as close to 7 days as possible. Do your best to leave it alone. This gives your tattoo time to heal while being protected from outside bacteria or other potential contaminants.

If your tattoo bandage becomes damaged, punctured, or exposes the tattoo to contaminants, remove it immediately.

I recommend removing your tattoo bandage in a warm--not hot-- shower. Wash your tattoo well with warm water and a mild, unscented antibacterial soap.

If instructed to replace your tattoo bandage, follow the above washing instructions. Apply a new bandage once the tattoo is clean and dry. â€‹Do not replace the bandage more than once during the healing process.

After Bandage Removal (Or Non-Bandage) Aftercare Instructions

If you opt to not use a bandage, or once you have removed your tattoo bandage:

Please wash your tattoo at least 3 times daily with warm water and a mild, unscented antibacterial soap. Do not use any cloth on your tattoo-- just wash using clean hands. Wash the tattoo well enough to remove any plasma build up.

Once your tattoo begins peeling, around day 3 to 5, you can begin using a water-based unscented moisturizing lotion into your routine. I recommend Eucerin or Gold Bond.

Continue this cleansing and moisturizing routine on your tattoo until it is fully healed.
